What Makes You Smile?
I've had this cute little book/journal for about two years, maybe longer. A dear friend, Kristen Magnacca, gave it to me one year as a gift for a holiday. She's one of those friends that when you haven't seen her for a while she always comes bearing gifts.
The funny thing is that it just sat on my shelf for a while, I would look at it but wasn't actually using it yet. I already had a journal and wrote in that regularly and I guess I just hadn't quite found the way to use this one yet…. until this year. Around the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012 I found myself in a bit of a slump and was trying a few daily things to pull myself up and out of it!
Back to the cute little journal. It has on it's cover the question, "What is the one thing you think of that always makes you smile?" and in the first couple of days of 2012 that line really spoke to me so I started using the little journal. It's been a great pick me up during the day and nice to look back through at moments when I can use a reminder of what makes me smile. Below are a few of the things I've written in it. I strongly encourage everyone to try this out. It's a lot like a gratitude journal but just a little different. Just the act of thinking of what I'm going to write down in it puts a smile on my face. Who doesn't need that on a regular basis? We can all use more reasons and time to focus on making ourselves smile
